En 2006, la Société Furtwängler a tenu son Assemblée Générale le 28 octobre à la salle l'Archipel (Paris 10e). La SWF a été honorée par la forte présence d'associations soeurs de et plusieurs adhérents internationaux. Du Japon, le Wilhelm Furtwängler Center of Japan est venu avec trois représentants dont son Président, et la Wilhelm Furtwängler Society of Japan a envoyé son Président et sa femme. D'Allemagne, le Président de la Wilhelm Furtwängler Gesellshaft, un représentant de la Fondation du Philharmonique de Berlin et deux adhérents d'Allemagne et de Belgique (voir ci-dessous). L'Assemblée a été suivie d'un concert réunissant le ténor Yann Beuron (ténor) et Billy Eidi (piano) dans un répertoire mêlant mélodies françaises et pièces de piano romantique. Après le concert, le Dr Reinhard Niemann, membre de la SWF depuis sa fondation, a présenté la pianiste russe Katja Huhn car celle-ci envisage de mettre une Sonate de Furtwängler à son répertoire. Après le jeu aux multiples nuances des artistes français, l'interprétation monumentale, emportée mais très contrôlée de ce jeune talent dans Bach, Mozart et Liszt, qui a reçu la formation du Professeur Alikhanov (actuel directeur du Conservatoire de Moscou) et de la célèbre pianiste Maria Tipo, a rappelé au public que les écoles russes et françaises sont encore bien vivantes et conservent chacune tout leur vitalité.

En 2004, année du cinquantenaire de la disparition du Maestro, l'Assemblée Générale s'est déroulée en présence de plusieurs adhérents internationaux: M. Masayuki Nakamura Président du W.F. Centre Of Japan (WFCJ), M. Osamu Iwajima et sa femme de la W.F. Society of Japan, Mr John Hunt de la WF Society (United-Kingdom), Dr Reinhard Niemann (Allemagne) et M. Willy Demunter (Belgique)... L'assemblée a été suivie d'un concert réunissant Henri Demarquette (violoncelle) et François Kerdoncuff (piano).

Toujours à l'occasion du cinquantenaire, différentes radio françaises et étrangères ont consacré leurs émissions à Furtwängler, parfois jusqu'à 8 heures d'affilée (!): la BBC en Grande-Bretagne (Voir...), la RAI en Italie (Voir...), Concert Zender aux Pays-Bas (Voir...), en France Accent4 à Strasbourg (Voir...). S'agissant de la SWF, le 27 novembre Radio Canada a honoré Furtwängler avec des interventions de Philippe Leduc (Voir...). Sur France-Musiques le 28 novembre, Sami Habra et Felix Matus-Echaiz ont participé à l'émission diffusée en direct "Ouvert le dimanche". S'agissant d'Internet, l'année s'est conclue avec une célébration de Furtwängler compositeur sur ResMusica.com. Voir...
L'UNESCO devait accueillir un concert commémorant le cinquantenaire le 1er décembre 2004, avec la création française du Te Deum de Furtwängler. Le concert a été annulé dans des conditions que détaille ResMusica.com. Dans ce contexte, Madame Elisabeth Furtwängler a décliné l'offre faite par le Directeur Général de lui décerner la médaille Mozart.

En 2001, l'assemblée générale a eu lieu en présence du Président de la Société Furtwängler du Japon. L'assemblée a été suivie d'un concert placé sous le patronage de Son Excellence Monsieur l'Ambassadeur du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, interprété par les Solistes de l'Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg.

Our previous General Assemblies
In 2006,
the Société Furtwängler has hold its General Assembly on 28th October at l'Archipel (Paris 10th arrondissement). The SWF was very honored to have among its participants its sister organisations from Japan and Germany and foreign members from Belgium and Germany. From Japan, the Wilhelm Furtwängler Center of Japan attended with three representatives including its President, while the Wilhelm Furtwängler Society of Japan was represented by its Président and his wife. From Germany came the President de la Wilhelm Furtwängler Gesellshaft (WFG), a representative of the Foundation of the Berlin Philharmonic, as well as a member who joined our Société in 1969! Please find their pictures and names below. The Assembly was followed by a concert with the tenor Yann Beuron and Billy Eidi playing French songs romantic piano pieces. After the concert, Dr Reinhard Niemann introduced the Russian pianist Katja Huhn as she plans to play a Sonata by Furtwänger. Different from the very nuanced playing of the French artists, the young pianist style in Bach, Mozart et Liszt was monumental, passionate but controlled. She was trained by Professor Alikhanov (current director of the Moscow Conservatory) and by the famous pianist Maria Tipo. This reminded to the audience that French and Russian schools were still both vibrant and alive.

In 2004, the General Assembly welcomed various international participants: Mr. Masayuki Nakamura, President of the Wilhelm Furtwängler Centre of Japan, Mr. Osamu Iwajima and his wife from the W.F. Society of Japan, Mr John Hunt from the W.F. Society (United-Kingdom), Dr Reinhard Niemann (Germany) and Mr. Willy Demunter (Belgium)... The Assembly was followed by a concert performed by Henri Demarquette (cello) and François Kerdoncuff (piano).
